Open Lesson: Festivals are a very popular form of cultural offering throughout genres and destinations. Thanks to their organizational flexibility and their apparent ephemerality, they are appreciated by audiences, local authorities, and organizers as forms of territorial marketing, social engagement, and new ideas diffusion. Yet, their proliferation has generated a lot of mee too initiatives that are struggling to survive. What makes them interesting, attractive, and viable?
